My platinum membership expired a couple of days ago. I decided to renew today with a gold membership, but my account doesn't reflect the change. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Apparently the paypal guest check out has completely stopped working for automated memberships and I have to do everyone who doesn't have a pp account or is not signed in manually.

With how frequently this is happening now, I'm going to have to consider that shipping charge a service charge

You checked out as a guest, right? I remember refunding your 8

Yes I apologize, I hadn't looked at my bank yet. I have to check out as a guest because PayPal permanently banned me from having an account for selling knives a few years back. Thank you!

I'm all set now. Thank you. Respectfully, a service charge to renew is a bad idea. Just my two cents. More and more of us are parting ways with Paypal. Maybe it's time to consider a more viable alternative. I've already downgraded from platinum because I never qualify to buy a forum knife, if I had to pay an extra 8 bucks to renew, then I may not pay for a membership at all. Not a criticism, just sharing my point of view.

How do you never qualify, this year was:
Member since June 2022
Gold or higher paid subscription at time of ordering
25+ posts in this Traditional forum.
LIMIT 1 PER HOUSEHOLD. I will be making a spreadsheet with usernames and addresses to track this. Flippers may be blacklisted from future offerings.

Post more, it's not like it costs money to be part of the discussion 😁

I only post if I have something worthwhile to add. Since I don't know much about traditional knives, I read far more than I post.

Well, then, it's nobody's fault. But those knives, (which I own none of though I moderated that forum for several years along with Gus), were, (at least originally), intended for the Traditional Knife community...not for the masses. That is the reason that stipulations had to be imposed...for better or for worse.

So, the fact that you don't qualify is really not a problem, but a feature...in a sense. Though it's unfortunate that some good folks who just happen to not be garrulous don't get the benefit of purchasing them.
