Hi, Guys!

Just a quick question regarding the title...I did a quick comparison with my M4 Mili and my (older) Ti Mili...if I eyeballed it right, it looks like I would have to swap out the entire lockbar scale with the newer one. Does anyone know if the older Ti Mili's (without the steel lockbar face) and the newer ones (with the steel lockbar face) are the same configuration? Would the lockbar scales be interchangeable? Has anyone done that? Did you send it back to Spyderco; and if so, how much was it?

Thanks!

Can't help you except to say that Spyderco does not modify/upgrade existing knives and, with the exception of the Delica and Endura "rebuild kits", clips, and screws, does not sell parts.

Thanks, Deacon!

Is it that big of a difference without it? By that I mean, the wear on the bare titanium lockbar face.

Opinions differ on that question.

If you ask me, you'll probably be fine without it as long as you don't excessively flick open and close the knife.

Although, Spyderco did add the feature for a reason. I believe Sal said there was one case where excessive wear was caused in this manner, and thus now we have the insert.

Some manufacturer's like CRK, heat harden the lock face to prevent premature wear. I am unaware of whether or not Spyderco uses this process.
