upgrade to a gold membership from my current membership

can I upgrade to a gold membership from my current membership by just paying the extra $20? There doesn't seem to be an option to upgrade. Thanks

Don't believe so.

However, the good news is that if you upgrade to Gold, the remaining time will be prorated.

im confused. what does prorated mean?

They'll add on the remaining time you have left on your Basic member to the end of the Gold you purchase.
