Upgraded Collection

Back in January, I posted my collection which consisted of my Kabar USMC and a BK-11.

Now my collection consists of a BK-2, BK-9, BK-11 and a Kabar USMC that will be traded for a BK-16 tomorrow.

My plan is to convex all of them. I also want to take away the grind bevel on the BK-2 and sand it down so it runs smoothly from the spine to the edge, like the BK-11 does.

Cant wait to get the 16 so I can start modding it too.

Scales are by Tommythewho. He is awesome at what he does.

Technically the only modding I did was sharpen and polish , but one day I want to make my own scales. I just need a bandsaw

You could use a coping saw instead of the bandsaw. It's under $10 at the Big Box stores.

If you can regrind the 2 I'd say go for it...Here's some pics of mine. By the way, a bandsaw isn't 100% necessary for making scales, it will come in handy for sure but you can do without it.

Thanks red! Its not hard to do if you have a good grinder, maybe even with a lower end grinder and some good belts its still easy enough.

I was thinking of reprofiling with a mousepad+sandpaper like i used to convex the bk9 but i guess thats unrealistic. Do you think using a 220 grit chosera stone could work? Ive just seen virtuovice do it in his videos

If you want to convex the whole blade like I did I would say you definitely need a grinder. Just the grind from the flat stamping portion down to the edge? It'll take you about 8 hours on a stone/sandpaper but its doable .
