Upgrading CRKT M-1 Compomemts

All,

I have a CRKT M-1. It is my EDC because it fits my work needs perfectly. I use it top scrape hazardous placards (and other things) from the outside of shipping containers, to dig mud (wet and dried out of the castings), cut up boxes, and pull misfeeds out of the fax machine. Its easy to clean and fairly tough.
It has two irritating problems: 1) the screw that loosens/tightens the blade is also the screw that centers the blade between the liners. 2) The plastic (Teflon?) washers seem to be sticking and slowing down the blade’s deployment.
I’ve broken it down and cleaned it up. It is working better. I’m wondering if I can upgrade the knife components (new washers?) or find a better way to maintain it (would a lube like Sentry Solutions Tuf Glide work with the CRKT’s components?) Is there anything I can do about the way the blade lays between the scales?

Thanks,
Biscuits

Tuf Glide would work great, but even dry, those Teflon bearings are fine. You could always get new washers from CRKT.

Good question! I have a couple of M-16-T folders here, and thinking about making custom blades for them. That and my Kershaw Leek. Nice and handy little knife. But It won't hold an edge long enough cross the street! Mike

I do not know what size washers that knife uses , I would suggest finding out if possible , then you could order new washers. If you cannot get them from CRKT you can get them from Texas Knife Makers , they have a few different sizes and choice of teflon or PB.
