upgrading membership help

Hello mods,
I recently renewed my basic membership and have been thinking about upgrading to gold. My question is. Does the value of my basic membership get deducted from the price of the gold membership/ or discount price? or do I have to pay the full price?

You pay the full price for the Gold. Then post a new thread here in Tech Support asking Spark to prorate the remaining value of your Basic to the Gold.
