Upgrading my work knife?

I've been thinkin about upgrading my work knife from a black endura3 to a carbon fiber military. I am not "too" hard on my work knives but don't hesitate to use them fully. The endura has served me well but I seem to have an desire for this cf military now. I was wondering if anyone recommends against the military as a work knife. Also, I work around water, and the military I like has the uncoated s30v blade. I haven't carried an s30v bladed knife regularly, but have seen the first stages of minor rust developing on my chinook2 before. However, I hear all the time that s30v has good rust resistance. -My concearn is just having to baby the blade too much. Should I see the rust issue of the chinook as an issolated incident, or is my concern worthy. -Thanks for the advice.

Since you ARE going to work around water, I would suggest one of Spyderco's Salt series. The blades are H1, and will NOT rust.

If you really like the Military, you could opt for a G-10 Military with black coated blade. The coating should help to resist rust.

I love the Military as a work knife. The Military, over the last 4 or 5 years, has seen more pocket time, and taken more abuse, than any other folder in my collection. Cutting efficiency is extremely good, ergonomics are exceptional, and durability is fantastic. The light weight makes for easy carry. I really can't say enough good things about the Millie.

I appreciate the advice. I was just thinking and I wonder if it's possible to get two militaries, one g-10 black blade, and the carbon fiber one, and then switch the blades out. Anyone know if that's possible, or are they both ground individually to fit the locks? -Figure I could find one cheap and then re-sell it maybe.

As long as they are of the same vintage, I don't think that a blade swap would be a problem.

Agreed.
Make sure to post pictures when you're done!
And, if you want to sell the other frankenstein Military, you've got at least one interested party right here. ;)

The Military is a great knife. I carry one every day. But let me ask you a question, how do you use your knife? I'm asking because the Military has a fine tip. It's excellent if you like pointy tips and use your knife as a cutting tool, but not exactly the best choice if you like to pry with your knives.
