Hi Gang.
In some of the reading I have been doing lately it is highly recommended that one upgrades to IE 7 manually before MicroSoft upgrades you automatically if you have that feature turned on, or otherwise force fed to you. Also back up the things you want to save just in case before you download IE 7.
There have evidently been some problems downloading IE 7 and I found THIS post on CastleCops to be of help. I also turned off my firewall in addition to my Antivirus and AntiSpy programs and I downloaded IE 7 with no problems. :D

After you download a screen comes up with several options you can turn on like the Anti-Phishing tool. Whatever you do don't click the "Change Search Option" button and the "Save Settings" button at the bottom of the page before you check out all of the options and turn on the ones you want.
I didn't know that, nor was there any warning that the current page would be lost so I figured that doing one thing at a time was the thing to do, I was wrong.:( :o

IE 7 takes some getting used to and I found that for me it isn't as intuitive as Firefox. Also AFAIC Firefox remains the best browser with one thing the ease of saving multiple websites to download with several tabs on one page. It can be done with IE 7 but it isn't as easy to manipulate the IE Favorites as it is Firefox bookmarks.
I downloaded IE 7 because I had rather do it manually so I could fix anything that might go wrong instead of waking up some morning and finding my computer crashed but I'll stay with Firefox except for when I have to use IE for the MicroSoft downloads and such.

CastleCops have several forums dealing with all kinds of computer subjects and have been of great help to me several times now. Here are the list of all the forums. And the folks there are very friendly *And* helpful!  :D

It does take a bit of getting used to, but I have been using it for a week and love it.

The tabbed browsing is really useful and I right click/open a new tab in each forum to have lots of tabs open and then read them.

ie7 ain't bad, almost as good as FF, i've just upgraded to firefox 2.0 & will mostly stay with it, saving ie7 for the non-standard stuff from microsoft et al.

Thanks Yvsa!

I followed your suggestions and links and installed IE7 on my XP computer and did not have any problems.

Kind of nice to be able to see more of the screen.
