How do I? Upload pictures?

Just that simple, not sure how to upload pictures. I click on the picture button above where I am typing but it just askfor a URL. not sure what that means. I am doingall this on my android phone if that matters.

As a non-paid member you'll have to use a 3rd-party image-hosting website, there are a few out there but the most commonly-used free one is Imgur. Hopefully you have enough knowledge to figure out how whichever website you choose works, because I do not have any Android experience and thus cannot guide you through a how-to or anything.

If they are within the file size limit, BF does have an image-upload option. However, many members who take pictures with their phones will have some photos that are too large to upload directly and thus have to downsize the image file either by screenshotting the photo (to lessen the resolution) or using a resizing app that does the same thing.
