And this is some of what he brought the birthday boy.
Notice the ATS-34 stamp on that 119...I've been lusting for a premium steeled Special for a long time. I even talked to Chuck Buck once about it. I'm delighted.

Very, very nice Flatlander! You have good taste. I want to eventually get each of those models. Is that white micarta on the 277?
 
Its synthetic ivory APF.
I have to say I've been a little piggish with the knives lately but I had to have 'em. :)

One other thing, I've been reluctant to get an Ergo Hunter because I've read a lot of people stating how they couldn't get used to the way the handles felt. So because of price on this one I took a chance. And I have to say, I think its very nice. It's name makes sense because it's got great ergonomics. Now I just need to skin something.

I've been sitting here playing with my new Crosslock waiting on my birthday dinner and man I love this thing. I've never held one before (don't know why I've ignored them) but this thing is very well built. It feels good in your hand, both blades have linerlocks. What a handy dandy design. I think their are more of these in my future.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Same on the Ergohunter... I don't have a 279 Alpha Hunters or any Alpha's... How do you like them??? I was going to buy one and a Ergo, but I have never had one in my hand so I didn't know if I would like them... :eek: ... That Alpha does look very nice... :thumbup: ... I did buy the 119, 118 and the 890/650 B/O... :thumbup: Have a good one.. :thumbup:

what handle is that on the 119? is that cocobolo with nickel bolsters? thats awesome. totally jealous

Join the club. The Folding Alpha Hunter is one of my top five favorite knives that I own. If I recall, Flatlander is pretty hung up on them too. :)

Armand its Ironwood. A nice piece to be certain. You need to get that Ergo. Mine is the 420hc and rosewood BO. I think it will be a favorite. I did have to get a 650/890 too as well as two of those D2 118s. And went back for more. Sucker for a good sale ya know.

Charcoal Dymondwood (laminate) and I assume the pommel and guard are the standard Aluminum they alway use. I got it because of the prem steel. I've only over seen the 100 series in BG42 for the Master Series. And the D2 118. Other than that, this is the only one. Heck and I've been a sucker lately for ATS-34. :)


If I recall, Flatlander is pretty hung up on them too.

You got that right. The Alpha folder is a superb knife and I have several.;)

The wife cooked me smoothered porkchops for supper last night and made a scratch choc. cake...boy that was all real good. Its back to "coffee grounds and egg shells" for me to use my father-in-law's expression.

Armand I know you like the older classics but the folding Alpha hunter is a world class knife. You get one and it'll for sure end up a EDC on your belt.

Flatlander1963 that is some great looking Buck knives you have. I should have one of the 119 on the way with a second 118. The ATS on the 119 is what caught my attention also. I orderd one of the 889's all so. HL
