Anyone have any issues losing a knife carrying an Izula upside down, in the factory sheath?

I found the perfect place for mine, on the shoulder strap of my backpack, tip up blade down, but I'm nervous that I'll reach for my blade and it won't be there.

I rigged up some paracord with the little plastic lock doodad to hold the blade in while the pack waits in my closet, but I'm not sure I'll be able to hook it back up every time I need it while out and about.

"tip up blade down"?

I run it the same way on my daypack the factory sheath is there permanently, the sheath has a good grip on it, I wouldn't worry too much. If it ever wears down to where it is questionable bust out 20 bucks and get a nice aftermarket kydex one or 15 and for a new factory one. You could always dummy-cord it!

I never had an issue carrying as a necker but I mainly carry mine vertical in leather or horizontal in Kydex now.
wife carries hers inverted w/o an issue.

i haven't lost mine yet, the factory sheath has good retention, i have custom kydex sheath that i use for belt carry though, if you dont like the current sheath i would recommend getting a custom one done

It's not that I don't like the plastic sheath, I'm just worried about losing the knife is all :(

I have carried mine as a necker for over a year with the factory sheath, recently changed to a custom made by Shotgunner, and its just as secure, works well, great retention. If your not sure, wear it around the house, where ever you can so that is easy to find if it happens to fall out. You could always secure your Izula to the sheath with a small length of paracord and a breakaway clip as a safety backup

sorry couldnt find a better picture but you get the point.

As tight as my Izula fits, i can't see having a problem. If it wares so that there would be an issue, it seems you would be able to feel it.

I keep mine upside down on the strap of my BOB and have no worries about it coming out of the sheath.

I've been carring mine upside down on my pack for 6 months and still have it. I also have stripped the finish off of mine with no worries about it falling out.

I can't imagine having a problem. I filed down the pegs half way to make it go in and out easier, and it's still tough enough I have no concern.

No issues with it falling out. It is in the sheath tight, it won't fall out.

I did this too because it was too hard to get out of the sheath and havent had any problems at all.
