Snagged two in the recent drop. Impossible to clip or remove from pocket unless your pants are literally paper thin. How does this get past like every reviewer? Did I miss the part in the review vids where they stopped raving about it and said "oh, by the way, it's IMPOSSIBLE to pocket." (Yeah, I'm a junky, I watched all the vids I could find before I snagged em).

I've attached the photos to this thread so you can see just how much force it takes to move the clip to its max which is almost a full width of the human hair. Huzzah.

Hopefully UrbanEDC steps up and sends out replacement clips. They are cool knives. But I kinda wanna be able to... Pocket... My pocket knives.

Looks like it needs more of a ramped angle on the end of the clip.

Why did you buy two?

Oh, it is mentioned fleetingly in this review, kind of as an afterthought. But it also mentions that the clip issue would be resolved and was just on that one test knife.

That said, definitely concerning to me that I snagged two and both have the same issue.

I did reach out to UrbanEDC; will update whenever I hear back

That sucks, looks like the clip on the ZT 0804CF. To this day, I honestly do not believe one of those has ever been carried by anyone (the clip design is unique and nobody makes replacements).
Too bad because it a hell of a knife. (At least It is on paper, I’ve never carried mine)
…And I actually had 2 at one point. When they were discontinued they were selling for only $200….so I bought another thinking surely enough SOMEONE will make a god damn spacer for this terrible but unique clip. Nope
I always get a chuckle when reviewers say they “prefer” 3D clips….just Proves they don’t/didn’t actually carry the knife 🤣

It may be because I'm living on a meager pension, but before I buy a knife that costs over ~$200 I either want hands on the knife or many reviews/recommendations from several trustworthy people (like the folks here). I haven't gotten bad advice from here yet, and don't expect I will.

The tight clip thing happened to me a lot when I wore Duluth's regular Fire Hose pants, the edge of the pockets are thick on those puppies, but they're warm and protective. Since I switched to their lighter-weight Duluth Flex pants I haven't had that problem, but I doubt I could clip the knife in your photos.

I've taken off the sheet metal type clips and bent them and it works, with your I wonder if you couldn't just take off the clip and cut down the "nub" at the end of the clip with a Dremel and re-install it. If I otherwise liked the knife, I'd try that or search for aftermarket clips that suit you better.

The simple answer is that most YouBoob reviewers* don't tend to use or carry the knives they review for any length of time. They scramble to get the latest knife, fartbubble out a quick review for clicks/monetization in the hopes that they're the first so as to get the most clicks, and then it gets returned, or moved on in a giveaway. About all you tend to get are a few shots of them holding the knife in a "gorilla grip" or the "steak knife" grip, maybe the upside down stabbing grip so they can get it on camera, and that's about it. Onto the next.

* Including the big names.

Bend the clip a bit?

I notice lots of knives these days coming with 3D machined clips, which says manufacturers/customers/market research care more about looks than function.

The two most comfortable clips I have are milled. The Varga VBR clip disappears in my hand and the Quiet Carry Nine clip slides in and out of the pocket effortlessly while still holding on.

Best would be to remove the clip and reshape with a Dremel, but you could also slide some fine-grit sandpaper underneath and sand the nub down that way, then proceed to coarser grits until you get optimum clearance
