I already have a nmsfno with hand shaped black slabs and sage blade and I am thinking of ordering another with machined slabs. I'm thinking urban gray with black handles. Anyone have pics of urban gray (preferably in the sfno). Other suggestions for color combo and pics welcome! Thanks.

If the urban gray one will be a user I say go for it, if you're hanging on to it for resale later... not many people like urban gray.;)

It's initials are UG for a reason. LOL

It looks like something out of your high-school shop class. Too glossy. Too gray. Some guys like it on a user b/c it is the closest color to the steel and sort of masks the coating wear. I can't take it, personally.

i'm fine with it. it'd be my third choice after green and black.

here's a BATAC in grey

I love urban gray. It's the best finish IMHO. It's more of a nutral color- not too dark and not too light (shiny). Plus the chipping/marring is not as noticeable when used.

Thanks for the advice on the ug. I do intend for it to be a user...so maybe I will go this route. The suggestion about the green is well heeded. I have a nmfbm in that color and love it.

While I don't think the UG is particularly appealing in and of itself I do find it to be a nice neutral color, and most importantly it seems more durable than other colors, at least in my experience! The only UG coated knives I have are an AK47 and NMFBM, both of which have been used and don't show much wear.

I like the UG too ... i'd pick it over a few of the colors.. though sage is really nice and seems to be popular.

You know, you're right. I was actually thinking about it for a knife until you said this, and I looked at examples of it.

It does kinda look like a glossy, thick primer.

I think they changed the formula a bit. My FBM wasn't anything like a primer finish, more of a lightly textured battleship grey. It wasn't matte, or shiny, more inbetween the two.

Here's a pic with an Urban Grey NMSFNO with black micarta machined handles. Above it is an Urban Grey FBM with black micarta machined handles.
