URBAN GREY subliminal desires

I know why the Urban Grey blade flavor is so popular. I've seen that many people have ordered this color, including myself. What we really wanted was a satin finished blade and the urban grey color is the closest thing to naked steel that Busse offers in the stupendous Battle Mistress model. I figured that one out. Now if I could only figure out how to get rid of the Micro Wedges. I know, I'll learn to live with them. I'm gonna love her (the Mistress) all the same.

I know the feeling!
I had this SAME trouble with my Hell Razor.
So I took the problem into my own hands, and simply sanded the bevels off.

This is mid-process.

This is the final result after a full mirror process. This is the reason I had to go with the LE FBM. I couldn't take any more of those bevels.

Hey Gunsite, I'd very much appreciate some close ups of your 'Razor if you can and don;t mind doing some.
I think I'd like my ' Razor and FBM (when it arrives) to be bare metal.

I'd like to see how close a job you can get 'round the scales without removing them (assuming you did not remove scales).

I have been contemplating stripping my Razor, but not been brave enough to do it yet, but seeing yours, well it makes me think that maybe it is possible to do without wrecking it.

You sure have done a fine job of yours.

Looks gorgeous, though I think I would personally go fore a less polished bare finish.

I must say I agree with both of you. I think what people really want is DC or stain blades. I know I sure do.

I don't mind the ridges, but I want to see bare naked INFI!

I actually prefer the INFI dimples and flat gray. But I cannot deny the beauty of those polished blades! Beautiful work! As far as the bevels, I have to get one of the blades with them, so I can get a rippled patina going. I like the bevels, but as I find often, I'm an opinionated minority. Good subject though.

How much time you think you've got in that HR, Gunsite?

Didn't you see the LE model?

Satin finish, no bevels and thicker also.

It's a good deal when you think of the hours required to strip and polish a CG FBM.

Also, it's a factory LE model, not a modified CG so resale will be better.

I agree that the FBMLE is about the most beautiful Busse to date, but I need a user and I have a feeling that the LE would be just a bit too heavy to lug around in the boonies all day long. I had a Zero Tolerance BM and found it to be almost perfect. I haven't received my CGFBM yet (it's getting a pair of pants) but am anxious to see if it's the right weight for expedition use.

I agree, I just now received my CG FBM (pics and stuff to follow later) and with a few test swings, I can say that the LE would be too much knife unless you were wanting to fell redwoods, and then even I would be goin fer the axe.:o
