Urban knife?

Well since I am in the process of consolidating my knives to take care of a small incident :o ($$$) the question regarding which knife would be best in an Urban survival setting comes to mind. Now I do not live where I would need to chop/split tons of wood to keep warm, though certain conditions may arise where I would use the knife to chop and baton wood for fires. Just not to the same degree as I would if I lived somewhere where it snowed. I have an AK which is staying. But out of these three which would you choose as your one knife for an Urban Survival type of situation.

(1) AK & SH-E
(2) AK & NO-E
(3) AK & BATACSE

And if all goes well with selling off some un-needed items I might still have my DF.

I like all three, and though I love my BATACSE, I can't help but feel like a little more blade would go a long way. What do you guys think?

(4) SHSH
(5) ZTSH

the SH-e is about the best overall outdoors knife (for a 1-blade scenario.)

For urban scenarios (i'm assuming a decent folder for the smallest tasks), I think the NO-e would be ideal. Although I'd also add either a Hell Razor of SFNO to the mix.

Mulder: great choices. Just not a reality for me at their current prices. ;)

But well worth it I am sure.

ASH-1. Good point.

I have a Mini Cyclone TI ZDP frame lock for an edc. AN AK for the zombies ;) and SD of course. For when the bullets dry up or I need to be quiet. And hopefully still a DF for some heavy chopping. And My wife has an SS4. So I am thinking more about the best "only one knife" scenario. Which will hopefully never happen. :)

Just have fun with this thread.

I really like the SFNO but I sure do not want to pay $200-$300 more than I would for an NO-E or SH-E. Don't get me wrong, It's a great knife.

The SH-E keeps jumping put at me. Especially if I had to sell the DF and only had one.

Choice number one and a sak.
You can kill zombies in the morning, build camp and fire in the afternoon, and clean your nails and teeth in the evening, good to go.

I think all three options are pretty good. It just comes down to a matter of personal preference.

I personally don't have a need for a AK in a urban environment but can imagine that would be quite useful against 2 legged vermins.

For a true urban environment I think the BATACSE would be most suitable because of its smaller and compact size. You can have it on you and it wouldn't scream HUGE knife or anything or that sort. The SH-E is really too big and overlaps with the AK in terms of duty. It would be more ideal in a one knife scenario. The NO-E and BATAC are pretty close in size so again it is a matter of preference.

How much are the CG ASH1 knives projected to be?

I have no idea ;) But if you intend to chop then you'd better stick with your BATACSE. Maybe I am just no good but I couldn't get it to chop well enough for me. I did much better with a BATACLE and ZTNO.

Judging from the Knob Creek pics, the price tag shows $287
But that's supposed to be Joe Schmuck's price..........we HOGS are supposed to get "special pricing" :D :D :D
.

Where did you see a CG ASH-1 n the pics???

6) BBSHSH, not too big, not too small, narrower width blade than a SHSH, but still heavy enough to chop.

Well, crap.

I apparently had a residual image of the ASH-1 burned into my retinas when I saw the CG SFNO's with the raptor scales showing a price tag for $287

Sorry about that ! :o
