Urban Park bike ride

Hopped on the cruiser today to go for a bike ride. Explored Burnaby Lake , a hidden jewel in the cancerous urban blight that is the Lower Mainland of BC. Burnaby Lake is one giant filter for all the storm water and creek runoff form the city. Huge swaths of marshy grasslands, lilies, beaver dams. Tons of wildlife too.

yep. almost 100 acres of marshy grasslands, lake, sloughs, and woods, surrounded by the city and all the city filth
 
The colors are so bright they are a little surreal...did those come straight off the camera or did you tweak them in an editing software?

Cool photos and sweet find with the apples. Having a city built around wild life like that is an interesting idea. Would be cool to have a city that was more integrated, so to speak, with nature. More green roofs, more open blocks of land with wild plants. There are some examples of this, but definitely not enough.
 
Siguy,i use Linux ShowFoto for post edit, i bumped up the Gamma and Saturation a bit on these. Camera is a hi-def 10MP Fuji FinePix HD2000S
 
Excellent Pictures Bushman - those pictures are really popping! How did those apples taste? Any worms? One great reason to eat an apple with a knife - you weed out protein surprises ahead of time!
