More practicing of those "urban" survival skills. ;)

I figure that if I were ever in a disaster type situation and things got really bad I would have to rely on my skills and preparedness to get my family through it. Fire is one of the most basic needs for obvious reasons. Even in a big city. Gas lines and electricity could be disrupted. So use your imagination if you would in this brief scenario.

Upon inspecting yet another abandoned house in my city for anything useful I decide it's time to set up camp. Finding things to burn is easy in the city. I pry away some wood from a collapsed fence. (The NO-E being put to work. The AK in the backgorund for close encounters, and it's quiet so as not to attract attention. Not like my .45 cal.

I quickly prep a small out door fire place I was lucky to find here.

Some sweedish steel to get things going. Matches are in short supply.

A good fire to provide warmth, to cook, and to keep the boogie man away.

Now to find something to cook. (Muahahhaha. Actually those are my little buddies. They enjoyed the fire with me).

Just having fun.

Time to sleep. (For real :) )

good job, and you can use the sword on the ransackers and hoods, when they come down your street.

I think both of your "buddies" look like they are smart enough to keep one eye on you at all times!:D Just look at the look on the face of that one in front.

If you are looking to eat a dog or cat, I'm sure you can probably make a good guess on a local eatery where the alley cats are somehow strangley absent.

Glad I'm not the only one that gets "that look" from the family dog when the hardware comes out! :o

The shop cat, well, he's kinda jaded nowadays. :p

The white one, the one in the front, is halarious. Very loyal but he cracks me up. The other one, the Jack Russell, is super smart but a pain. He's an escape artist. I have spent many a night (by prompting of my wife) roaming the streets, asking gang bangers if they saw the little runt. Now I have him on a tie-off until I figure something out. I'd eat him first. :p

To be honest I tried to start a fire using the "friction board" method before I busted out the Sweedish Steel. I got lots of smoke fast but no actual flame.I got a nice blister though. :grumpy: I need to adjust my technique.
