Looks legit to me. I had one of those in the black G10 of the same year. I think the main pivot did got replaced though as it should have a domed style one versus where this one of flat/flush style like modern EKI's.

Looks legit to me. I just recently traded this exact model (only non serrated) here a few weeks ago. It was my EDC for many years. Great knife. Here are some of my pictures to compare:

Is that rust on the liner opposite the liner lock?

I'm asking because i want to know if I'm getting a good deal. btw this deal is outside of blade forums.

Good catch if it is. When I saw your post and went back and looked, there is something on the pivot screw in the closeup photo as well... Can't tell for sure if it's wear, corrosion, rust or whatever.

Yeah, the pivot screw looks a bit chewed up. Almost as if someone tried to tighten it and slipped causing it to be slightly stripped. Not a big deal if its going to be a user or if you are getting a good deal on it, but if its for a collection or if you are paying market price I would skip it.

the thing is i do not know the market price

Alder......

I wouldn't expect to get this one on the cheap..... old school Emerson Commander's still sell at a premium and this one with the older doomed pivot pin, looks like the Hard Chrome finish on the blade and the first time with green handles is all one would want in early Emerson knife. And no it's not a Jungle Commander........we all need to sharpen our Google Fu skills......

Josh had the right idea by taking a look at Ebay

Looks like a real Commander to me.
Thumb disc, screws, box, scales, all appear correct.
I found the sale site it's on and where it's from. I'd use PayPal for some added purchase protection especially to cya shipping internationally.
Other than that the price is just OK. Maybe a little high.

I am not good past 2008 Emersons but there are some questions that come up. Are the liners suppose to be the same thickness back then??? I thought that was a recent switch.

Just got the knife, it is beautiful and lock up is solid with no blade play. Looks and feels authentic. Apparently serial numbers were not introduced at that time yet. As for the rust in the pics they are just oil
