This is it, the hen's tooth Busse!

Made between '82 and '84, Jerry's first two years of full-time knife-making (IIRC), this is the only one I've ever seen! I'd only even heard of it once before. URGENT FURY!!!

BTW, it had the same type of sheath as Chuck's Shark.

Notice the pommel...one of the first Busse bird-beaks :D

Here it is with Eric's BAG3 variant:

WOW that's sweet!

Who does it belong to?

Is it aprox the size of a SJ? 6-7" blade?

Is it ats-34 or A2?

Great handle and pommel! And pre-talon hole era. Cool!

Idaho, that things worth a trip to LA even without a map :D  Let's GO!

yes that was the name, granada.
nice blade!
jerry, i'll be in contact with your custom shop!!
marc, u there?

Andrew,
Thanks for posting the pic. It looks good in print!

The knife belongs to me, I bought it when I went to my first Blade Show back in 1988 in Knoxville. I bought it new from Jerry without a sheath. He told me to send it to his sheathmaker and he would take care of the bill. I got it back in a few weeks and it has been in my safe ever since that time. Don't know why I bought it except it looked "cool". That's basically the story behind it...don't know what made me bring it to the show this year other than to see if Jerry remembered the knife. The guys at his booth fell over each other trying to get to it to take a look. I guess I should have bought more!!
Anyway, thanks again for posting the pics...just thought I'd give you all the history if it.

Larry :)

Very Cool Larry! I wish I would have had more time to look at it at BLADE.

I believe I made this particular blade between '82 and '84. I probably swept it up in a pre-show panic. Now I wish I would've kept it. Dog gone it that is one cool looking blade. Thanks for bringing it to the show.

Wanna trade???? ;)

Jerry

Larry A thanks for that history! That's such a nice piece!!!

I'm still currious what the steel is and what the blade length is?

Oh Yeah, and I'm also curious who emailed you an offer first IWB'S or Idahoskunk :D ;) :p

Hunter,

To answer your questions, the knife has a 7 inch blade, is 12 1/4" overall and I believe Jerry was using D-2 back then. Idahoskunk was the first E-mail offer I got but Eric and Andrew were bidding on it at the show with Eric outbidding. I've not decided what I'm going to do with it, it is all cleaned and wiped down with Tuffcloth and back in the safe for now.

Jerry...I'd be happy to send you the knife for a week or so, just to play with and show it around if you like...my fee is nominal:D
Let me know. Thanks again,

Larry

Larry,

I think we need a "green with envy" smilie face LOL
