The red class had a few models made in Taiwan including the Rant and Monochrome... hmm, well I guess it's time to warm up google.

It looks like a normal Red Class Vex, except for the fact that it says Taiwan on the blade. That's questionable, as mine says China. Here's Benchmade's page for the knife.

on Benchmade's website, it does say this knife is made in China(but Taiwan is part of China too). But as far as I know, some OEM knives marked Tai Wan on the Blade is acturally made in China too.
still not quite sure if this one is original or copy. by the way, the wholeprice for this knife in China is around 6 USD. and it sells on Benchmade's website 69 USD.
............

Well, I pulled out my TAIWAN made LFK... vs. the Tai wan. Also 6$.... it's a rip off, either you won't get what's pictured OR they've got a good looking fake.

And the original Vex has got liners as thick as the blade - that is the thing that absolutely turned me off, so I've got rid of the one I have had.
This fake sort of looks nicer and overall a bit more practical - for both the grind and the blade-handle balance. Strange, isn't it?

thank you for your information. but please don't judge based on the price. rare OEM (original ) folding knives(like kershaw, CRKT, BUCK) made in China will cost more than 6 USD for wholesale .

Yes, I was pointing out that $6 for a ~$40 knife likely means a ripoff.
