Calling on some spyderco experts to guide me through this. I am supposed to be meeting a gentleman to purchase his pm2 " collectors club" series tomorrow. My issue is that it is missing what I understand to be Eric Glesser's logo from the back and I am worried it is a fake. I Will attach pics. If anyone could give me some insight it would be greatly appreciated

Yeah that's weird that it's not there. Are you getting a screaming deal? Knife looks used. I don't understand why people don't just buy from the reputable dealers. These knives become available multiple times a month if you keep an eye on things.

I've never seen a fake with a collector number,I think some of the models were Sal's designs and some were Eric's independent of each other

It's a pretty good deal. It was just a quick craigslist find that I thought I'd pursue. But when I noticed the missing mark I got suspicious. The gimping looks to be angled like it should but it is the missing mark that has me concerned

I know cards, I try to never buy from craigslist but like I said it is a pretty good buy. I know what to look for on the fakes vs real. So I guess if there are some early models without Eric's logo it'll be worth taking a look at. Crossing my Fingers. Thanks guys for the speedy replies and advice!

My first Para 2 which I got right after they were released, initial run did not have the logo. I just verified that out of my 11 Para 2's it's the only one without. There were threads about the new logo.

WTLJ Well he has a couple of blades Im getting so I end up getting the pm2 for 75 plus a little in gas to get to the meeting place. Which from 3point5 with my discount a New one is 115 which seems to be the going price around here

Meh, $75+gas, time and hassle when you can get a brand new guaranteed original spyderco delivered to your door for a $30 bucks more? Not me.

Yeah Surf but I only get 5 purchases a year with 3point5 and with gen 4 glocks being 335 and other gun companies at well under my store costs. I like to conserve the 3 purchases I have left from my employer not to mention the 4-6 week process time. But to each his own

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is 3point5?

Edit: nevermind, just looked it up. Just so you know, there are several reputable dealers that sell them for less than that. They are in stock at a great dealer right now for $107. And I bet they will even let you do business with them more than five times a year. ;)

Oh my bad! It is a website that dealers of certain products use that rewards employees for completing small lessons on the companies they sell in their stores by giving discounts, which are usually under dealer cost. So you do a little homework on spyderco, a couple of quizzes, and then if you pass you get like 55% off. Very neat system especially with firearms

107 is a great price. I'll Take a look around because I doubt I'll be happy with just one!

Yup. Not worth a few more grey hairs over.

I think Eric was only involved on the redesigned para military 2. Maybe it's the original para military.
