My typical way of finding knives is yard/garage sales, and I waste a lot of gas, usually with not much results. But today, Thursday, 10-6-05, I discovered one in the local shopper newspaper that actually listed "knife collection" that starts tomorrow at 8 am. So I left work (!) and went by about 11 am today, and they have some mint NIB Schrades that I am unfamiliar with, and I have no idea as to their values. I have an opportunity to buy before the sale, and might make her an offer on everything, if i can get an idea of values.
Here they are:
I*XL Schrade:
1 large lockback with cream plastic (?) handle, and serial # on bolster
1 small lockback with bone stag handle, and serial # on bolster
Both are new in box with sheaths. From my Levine's guide I can tell these are not that old, but the serialization and mint condition, probably helps the values.
She also has the Farmer (TM-1) and Miner (TM-3) Schrade+ knives Mint with matching serial numbers. I don't know if there were more in this set or not?? I know Schrade+ marking is fairly new.
(She also has American Wildlife Collection (2 in set) matched serial numbers from Boker Solingen, if anyone knows its value.)
I would greatly appreciate any advice or knowledge as to what these are worth. And if any of you are interested in these particular knives, what you'd be willing to pay. I might not be willing to pay that much, but might pick them up for you if seriously interested....
It's urgent that I find out ASAP, because I'd like to give her a fair price in advance rather then let someone else steal them from her tomorrow because i don't know what they're worth!
Please respond here or e-mail me at
