How do you create a url ?
I have a few pics i want to post, and it tells me it needs the url address first, i need assistance:grumpy:

If you want to post photos here (or elsewhere), and don`t have them uploaded to the web already (with an URL for every photo), you will need to upload them.

There are free services that you can use for that, like http://www.imageshack.us/. .

Just go there and follow the instructions. After the upload of each of your photos you will get an URL for the particular image. Just copy that and paste it into your post here, and you`re done.......... .

Hope this helps.

I am gonna have my wife take a photo of the wood inlay. Camera phone can't get the detail of the wood.

in the quick reply or advanced reply there is a little pick of a blue ball and and infinity symbol. that little pic is actually supposed to be an earth(globe) and 2 links attached together. once you have whatever url copied (by right clicking on it and copy) click the little globe. a small window will pop up. right click and paste in that window the url and then click ok.

once you click ok there will be a very long url looking thing in your message. a portion of it will be highlighted blue(as long as you didn't click anywhere in your message, if you did i will get to that in a moment). with the 2nd url still highlighted blue, just start typing what you want the clickable link to look like once you finish your post. for example... CLICK ME!

once you are done typing what you want it to say, you are done. just go to the end of the long url thingy and hit enter if you have more to type in your message. if you do not, just submit your message like normal.

if nothing is highlight anymore in the long url thingy, just highlight it yourself(left click and drag). you will be highlighting the second duplication of your url that you had originally pasted. if you do not change anything, you will notice that your post will contain a shortened clickable link of your url.

i hope this helps. if you just play around with it a little bit you will find that it is a lot easier than it sounds. :)

if you want to post a pic, just copy the image location. click the little pic next to the globe thingy and a window will pop up. paste the image location in the box and hit ok. this will enable the pic to be viewable on the site.

all of these little tricks are just writing in html format. once you learn html, you really do not have to click on the little image thingys. they are there to make it easier.
