Has anyone seen these or own one? Just wondering if they are a China made knife. They are all over Ebay. Says designed in Kentucky. They look like decent knives. maybe on the same plane as Rough Riders?

I have one...a whittler with smooth..white bone scales. not a bad knife. i'd say on par with Rough Rider if not a little better. I'm pretty sure mine has Ky stamped on the blade. i'll check when i get home.

U.S. Classics are a Chinese brand.

I've got one of theirs, an odd dogleg teardrop kind of thing. I think they call it a Barlow, but it's unlike any Barlow I've seen. I think I paid $3 + ship for it.

It's very typical of something that's made on the cheap to resemble something that costs a lot more. It's constructed of fairly light materials, has matchstrike nail nicks that are stamped in at funny angles, and it feels like the blades would snap in half if you applied any sideways pressure to them. It's got a huge billboard silk screened onto the side of the main blade.

Other than that, it's an OK knife.

They are widely marketed using their Kentucky location, but the knives themselves are made in China.

My take on the ones I have handled at shows has been about 1 notch below a Rough Rider.

Quality may differ from model to model much like Rough Rider. I have a Rough Rider and US Classic whittler and the US Classic seems to be a better knife.

For sure, the variation in quality between Rough Riders alone can be staggering at times, some flawless and the next handles falling off!
