Just finished this one. It's for someone in the US Coast Guard. I'm still waiting for a USCG pin that I'm going to put on the handle. It's 9" OAL, 4 1/2" blade, 440C blade, blue G10 handle and 416SS bolsters.://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid78/p1a0d6101bae1a90f5e20e32fa6e3b2c7/fb2a7e49.jpg

Why sure it does. Now that's what I call a full-V, just the way I like'em. Course now that I look at it again it could be a hollow. No matter.

Not bad at all from someone from Fairhaven.:D :D :D
Tom and I grew up in Fairhaven and went to the same gramma school, but never knew each other. We meet here on BF. Now he is a missed placed Yankee.

Niiice! That's gonna be one happy Coastie when they take delivery on that one.

All the best,
Mike U.

Indian, we refer to men like Tom as "Damm Yankees", a Yankee visits and leaves, them "Damm Yankees" buy property. :D :D :D

Nice knife Tom, how about a pic of the demon drop point? :D

Tom that's very clean and "sharp." Is that G10 on the handle? If so, what precautions do you observe working it? I really like that strong color and can see I may need to consider shifting away from Micarta for some stuff. I like yours!

How big a wheel did you use for the grind?

How are you going to mount the pin? Drill it out for the post, inlet the scales around its shape? Just curious since we probably won't get to see the finished product (though you're sure welcome to email me privately with a pic of the knife when it's done, dclarsen@mchsi.com ).

This is just a perfect example of clean design and workmanship. Thanks for sharing, makes me want to go make something!

I ground it on a 10" wheel. The G10 works about the same as micarta to me. I didn't take any extra care working with it. Make sure you wear a respirator when you grinding the stuff though. I don't grind anything without a respirator and safety glasses.
