Hello,

I found this knife at a local pawn shop, it intrigued me so I bought it. I wanted to do a little more research about it but didnt find much. It says "Made in the U.S.A Effingham, IL" on one side and a logo "EK 1941 Worldwar II, Korea, Vietnam Commando" on the other.

I am interested in the history and value of this knife. I am not sure if i shared the photo correctly.

From Bladeforums rules:

WHAT IS MY KNIFE / GADGET / SPATULA / TUNING FORK WORTH ?!?!?!?!

In order to curtail potential abuse of membership privileges associated with the forums, questions regarding valuation of knives and collections are limited to those with a membership level which permits selling on this site. Accordingly, registered and basic members may not start or post in threads with such requests whether with the intent to sell or for informational purposes only. This rule applies throughout the site.

In other words, without a paid Gold membership, you don't get to ask about sale values. Too many people abused this question to hint they had a knife for sale, which you need that membership for.

They haven't been owned by Blackjack since the 90s. They are now owned by KA-BAR.

Blackjack tuck over EK in 1993 and moved the production to effingham. KA-BAR tuck over last year and will start and produce them some time this year

KA-BAR did not purchase EK from Blackjack. The interim owner was Bob Buerlein.

My apologies, didn't know I shouldn't ask about value. Not important as I intend to keep it for my collection. I was more interested in the history anyway and now I have something to start my research.

You have a nice set of knives there 1shot :)

Thank you...next I need to work on my photography skills...:)

ETA: for those wondering from L to R Randall Model 15 Airman/EK WD3/EK M4/ EK Mod 6/Mod 6 with palm swell/EK mod 5 with palm swell. (the mod 5 is a one-off that Bob made for me)
