I picked up this Camillus trapper because I like the pattern and the fact it was advertised as being Carbon V intrigued me. I knew it looked exactly like the Cold Steel Trapper and that Carbon V was a trademarked name of Cold Steel but this was marked Camillus. At any rate for under 20 bucks I figured what could I lose and bought it. The main blade is marked Camillus but in silk screen or etching...looks just like the way Cold Steel marks their knives rather than the stamping Camillus normally used. The back of the main blade is stamped Carbon V as you can see. General consensus is it was made with blades left over from the Cold Steel run.
The scales are the same black synthetic as the Cold Steel knives and is better looking in person than I thought it would be. The jigging is medium deep and feels nice in the hand.
It is a perfect fit in the D.M. Bullard sheath I just bought and I have been carrying it for a couple of days now. Carried in this sheath it is not a pocket bulge and more comfortable than back pocket carry in the car. It is a snug fit but not difficult to draw at all. I have always liked the trapper pattern but carrying one daily wasn't always comfortable...now it is and I will probably be carrying this Camillus for awhile.
