Hi everybody! I hope you are all doing well!

I'm pretty new around here and I've got a question that I've been trying to answer myself. However, I figured that this is probably the best place on the web to ask this question:

I've carried an Ontario Rat Model 1 folder in the past, and it was hands-down one of the toughest folding knives I've ever owned (and I've owned a few Spydercos, CRKTs, and Benchmades). Is there a USA-made knife out there that's about the same size, and just as tough, as a Rat Model 1? I don't have anything against imported knives, but I'm curious to know about the USA made alternatives.

Thanks for your help!

There are a lot of US made knives that are the same size and just as tough, but if you are looking for one similar in price the field narrows dramatically. Just as an example a Benchmade Griptillian is tougher in some ways than a RAT 1 but its 3X the price. Im not sure if price is an issue in your search, but be prepared to spend more on a US made knife.

I'm not to concerned about price, I'm aware that a USA-made knife will cost more. I'm just curious to know about the alternatives.

Thanks for your input!

Ok, well a few suggestions would be a Benchmade 710, Spyderco Paramilitary 2, or the ZT 0200
