USA Marbles Trailmakers, worth getting one

Hey guys,

I had a great example of an american made marbles trailmaker. I have read they had some with bad grinds, and all the ones I have seen pics of have crappy sheaths. but mine was made perfect (had the stacked leather handle) and the sheath if I remember right was pretty good too. I never used it, never cut anything with it although it had an amazing edge. Since I could never figure out what to use it for I sold it.

Now I find myself wanting a big knife again. I can't afford all these customs on here that are hundreds, so looks like production is going to be the way I go if I want a big one. The junglas is probably a better knife, but doesn't have the same look and lines.

My question is, has anybody used their trailmaker? How are they and can you do the same things with one you can with the junglas? Is it a knife for batoning or is it just a big fighter? Is it worth keeping my eye out for a good deal on one (when I have the money of course).

Thanks gents.

No opinions?

While we're at it, which handle is more bettererest stacked leather or stag? Mine was stacked leather and felt great and looked great, I haven't seen another lately for sale, but am not in a rush so don't mind holding out, but if ultimately there is another handle option they offered that is better I'll go for it.

for comparison I hear the fallkniven are excellent, but they're more than double the cost. So if no "issues" with the trailmakers seems it's a good one to have? thanks.

I've batoned and done some light chopping with mine. It worked just fine. Unfortunately the prices on USA Marbles knives have gone way up. Most of the ones I have seen have an asking price of at least double what they used to retail for.
