Kinda funny, John and I became friends some years ago over at the collectors of Schrade thread here on BF. I was and still am a pretty avid Usa made schrade collector pre 2004 ( Old timer, Uncle Henry, open stocks etc). Anyway I think we got to be friends by me finding him a buck display case in a antique store and he in return sent me a Usa made schrade scrimshaw sc502 ( had a deer on it ). Anyways Since 2004 when schrade went out of business I religously look in farm stores, hardware stores anywhere there may be a left behind usa schrade. Over the last few years they have become harder to find but not today. It was a small hardware store that I had driven by 100 times or more but figured it was in the middle of Joliet ( Essington) there more than likley wouldnt be any pre 2004 usa schrades. So today I was in the area and was in need of something really quick so made a fast stop. On my way to the register I thought, well better look around to see if there is a knife cabinent. and you bet there was.... With some USA schrades and even a few OLD TIMERS ( my favorite) . The Schrade lightweight lockbacks SP3's are actually a very nice knife and come with a sharpening stone. funny thing is, is that the clam packaging is one that has eluded me over the years. I have and have had lots of Schrades in the clam package just never this one. Got the 3 of them for around $9 bucks each not bad not bad...
and the Usa made old timer 108ot's I picked up 2 of them not my all time favorite model as I dont care for what I consider " tiny" knives but still very cool to resell or regift etc. Either way just wanted to share. And keep your eyes open there could be one around the next corner. - Joel

BTW if anyone needs A schrade usa 108ot Id be glad to pick one up for ya next time im up that way. They were about $15 each. If not me I think a few others here frequent that area.

After John's blades, the ones I carry most are my Old Timers. I don't have a lot of them but I have some good ones. The Sharpfinger is possibly my all time favorite blade to have close at hand. Mine is badly worn from a lot of use and sharpening but I will use it until there is no blade left. It's just too handy adn Schrade's 1095 is just too good.

I would love one and would sincerely appreciate that. Just let me know how much you want including shipping and I'd be glad to send that to you in advance if you would like. Drop me a PM.

I have about a half-dozen or so tiny knives that I think are kinda cool and the 108OT would fit right in - if you don't mind. It looks to be almost exactly the same size as my Buck 305. And I'm in no hurry. :)

Thanks for sharing I love the "look what i found" threads!

Me to please, sir, I'm a sucker for old USA schrades, but a new USA one might not be to bad either :)

The 108Ot is a little gem. I carry mine quite often when I want no extra weight. It's a great cutter for a tiny knife.

Sweet! I guess I should start looking for old hardware stores while on my travels.

Thanks for the pictures and story of your score!

best

I always check out small town hardware stores, especially the ones that are not part of a chain. You won`t believe some of the stuff you can find! At one time I had a full display case of Schrades, but that`s long gone.

Did they have any other Schrade folders? Don't really need another 108 but they are handy. Although not carried much these days I have had mine for 25 years or more.
