Hey guys,
First thanks for the advice on the first time custom knife. About to pull the trigger on those. Waiting for the kitchen knife set I ordered for the wife as part of her anniversary presents (most fun ever shopping for that, even grabbed a pink rush for Valentine's Day so ahead of the game now!) and thought about getting her a custom 110 for Veteran's Day since she served in the USAF.
Now, she's not a knife person (yet) but appreciates the type of company Buck is and views my collecting them as more useful to her then my cameras or firearms since she also uses the knives. Has also made it easier for her to buy gifts for me since as long as it's a USA Buck I'm happy.
So, looking at the 110 w/mirror blade, silver bolsters and the indigo royal blue handles w/no rivets since that's about the closest I can come to the USAF colors. Will have the USAF emblem engraved on the blade and for the bolsters am considering either dates of service or the 2 main units she served.
For you guys that have seen all different Bucks out there how does this sound like it would look? any different suggestions?
