Use Them Or Display Them

Yes. Both. I've always used Schrades. And since I began collecting them, I've picked up a variety of users. I have multiples of the Safe-T-Grip knives in the kitchen for general kitchen chores and processing the fish my son-in-law drags in. And I use Old Timers to skin, butcher and process an average of a dozen deer a year. I EDC an 897UH in my construction business, and since my son joined me this year, he has carried a donated 8OT. A needlenose ST6 is in my service tool box, and a pair of TM8 shears is in my repair kit.

Just Curious.how Many Of You Collectors Use Your Schrades Or Display Them?

I do both. I display them in a cabinet, or on my desk, and have quite a few of them I grab and stick in my pocket. The cabinet is also used as storage too.

I think using many of my Schrades enhances the enjoyment of collecting them. you get to enjoy how well made and reliable they are, a more personal connection. my current favorite is a 61OT, stag handle, work of Mr. Williams.

Use them, abuse them, display them and store them, a bit of everything, have extras of some models that I dont mind using. the more rare the knife the less likely it would get used.

Thomas, fisherman above, just came in and had me snag him a Safe-T-Grip 147OT Pro Fisherman (1993-2004) of his own from Schradebay.

The quickest to snag BIB happened to be the bonus clampack burgundy handled version with the included Tradesman shears. Price? $17.99. Guess what? He gets the shears and one of my extra green handled versions and I keep the burgundy handled one. I call it my handle-ing charge.

Same here users and collectors both! If its an only child and new in the box no carry. multiples or less than mint goes into the pocket. Cant resist fillet knives and butchering style knives I have to use all of thoes.- Joel

I've got a Mint Schrade Mountain Elk set piggy- back sheath set and was somewhat disappointed to find the knife made in Ellenville and shears were made in China......one of those things Schrade was doing in those later days. Imperial had no trouble making the knife and shears/pliers in USA in the 60's in a mint piggy back set I've got.
Nice fish Michael..we have to throw them back in Oz when their undersize like that...is that what you call a Crappie?......when you accidentally catch up with a crappie in the water in Oz mate, you dont attempt to fillet it or pick it up by the clean end..... you put as much distance between you and it as possible!!!!!!..another difference in our dialects I think!Hoo Roo
