Ok guys, lets see some benchmades that have served you well through the long tough life they were made for!

I've had it 8 months or so, but it's seen some use! I should get some better shots. It's been around the block, but it remains unfazed. It's the best bottle-opener I have. :D

Not abused but used a ton. Carried it for 8 years on the fire engine and medic unit. Its been re sharpened by Benchmade a couple times and when it stopped firing a couple years ago their service was the best I have experienced. I retired it and now carry one of the new Strykers.

No more posts?? Could it be that most Benchmade fans buys knives and don´t use them? Just opening and close them in front of their pc/tv and complain about blade steel, locking mechanism or handle material?? And the only thing that these knives ever will cut is their bag of potatoes chips?? And therefore every knife is in mint condition? Huh?

I love the look of that knife! Makes me regret selling mine years ago.

I'm pretty sure your hunch is mostly correct, but not limited to BM fans.
My line of work requires almost daily use of a knife, and I've been doing it since '83.
In all those years, I've rarely seen a coworker use a knife worth todays' equivalent of $100US or more.
The one I posted above cost $100US in the late '90s.
I'm guessing 99.99% of people who buy knives in the $75 plus range (todays price), don't actually use them for more than what you stated.

I think there are plenty of people who have BM's that have seen a lot of use, but you gotta remember, not everyone that carries and uses quality knives spend time on forums...

One of the guys I have worked with for about 4 years wears a lot of different suits. He is a truck driver, cowboy, was a logger for years, loves to hunt and fish, and he sells real estate.

This guy uses every ounce of life out of everything he owns... One day we were talking and he pulled out his knife and asked me if I knew if it could be repaired.
As soon as I saw it I knew it was an early BM 9051 that had been rode hard and put up wet many times. It was beat up, the spring broke so it was no longer an auto, and it had been sharpened on a bench grinder probably 30 times. It surprised the heck out of me to see he was carrying a BM...

This one hasn't been abused, but it has been used and spent a lot of time in pocket...

There's a well loved folder!

Every time I see these or the full sized...I want one!

Excellent taste my friend.
The mini HSS remains my all time favorite after all these years.
