Used anvil prices

My Dad wants to sell me his anvil. I don't know the make yet. It's about 120# I'd say and the condition is very average. A big chip on the table and generally rounded edges. Any idea of a range of price?

Well, You thought it was a good idea when you wanted your independence and said, " I don't ever want anything from you for nothing...." Now it will come back to bite you in the butt.

Seriously, unless it is was a special anvil or in mint condition, about $100-200 sounds like a good price. Of course you could always try inviting him over for a Sunday steak cookout and mention how you wish you had a nice anvil.

It seems like $1 to $2 a pound is the going rate, with the condition determining where it falls in that range. I'd probably offer $150 if I was in your shoes. :)
