Used/Discounted Laptop parts?

Well I've been combing the web for parts (specifically mobo and keyboard) to repair my Toshiba A105. So far ebay is the only place with reasonable prices, but even then I could almost buy a brand new laptop for the price.

Does anybody have any ideas on where to find used or discounted laptop parts online or elsewhere? I was thinking some tradeshows or swap meets...if I can find any in my area...

That's the way it usually works with laptop parts. Sometimes you see laptop parts offered for a reasonable price, but they're unlikely to be the parts you need. You could lurk in wait and hope somebody will want to sell the part you need someday....

Just curious...how old (what are the specs on this laptop)? I'm a ham radio operator N4JDC and the majority of "hamfests" I attend seem to have as much in the way of surplus computer parts/junk as radio equipment. You might try something like that. I still use a Toshiba Tecra 8000 Pentium II 366Mhz w/256MB RAM running 2k/XP pro dual boot. I always see a number of those around. You might get lucky and find one that doesn't really work and get it for the parts!

Its a Toshiba Satellite A105-S2141 that I picked up last year. I want to say its around 1.5 ghz, but I forget the exact number... CD-RW/DVD-ROM etc... I've found a number of A105 series parts and "for parts" laptops about so I'm optimistic about finding a new mobo eventually. I've just waiting and biding my time. Worst case is I throw together one of my older 2ghz desktop units with various spare parts I've got, but I've grown fond of the mobility a laptop provides.
