Used Emersons?

I almost never see used Emerson's for sale. I guess that goes to show that folks hang on to them.

I'm trying to figure out what I should ask for (or trade for) a 2000 CQC-7 w/ combo blade. Any ideas?

Actually usedEmersons come up fairly often. I have purchased used CQC-7's and sold them as well for prices between $ 50 for fair condition to $ 85 for excellent condition. Satin finish seems to bring higher prices.

I have seen only two used Emerson's.

One was a Raven I traded in myself, but probably should have kept. It was in good condition, aside from a good sharpening job, but I was bored with it at the time and wanted something else. I forget how much I got for it, I think about $60. I don't know what it sold for, but it was a dealer that doesn't mark up used knives very much, so $85 is probably tops.

I saw another of the same model priced at only $35. It was VERY used. Scrapes and gouges all over, probably multiple sharpening jobs because the edge had taken on a different shape.

Unfortunately I haven't seen any used Mini Commanders, which is what I really want. They seem too expensive compared to a mini CQC7 with the same general construction.

lots of EKI's for sale new/used/etc, if the CQC7 is LNIB its worth around $100, lower depending on how used.........i have seen LNIB CQC7's for $90 myself.

the '7 is cheaper than a commander because they MSRP for less than the commander. IIRC a lot less, the mini's also.

This isn't technically an Emerson, but it was designed by Ernest. I had a Benchmade CQC7, sold by Heckler and Koch. It didn't have any BM or Emerson markings on it, just the H&K logo and a USP on the other side. I used it once or twice, and sold it on eBay. Now I want it back! That's life.
