Used evenheat noise

I bought a used evenheat kiln made in 2000. It seems to work fine but hums really loud is this normal, I thought it would hardly make any noise. I called the guy I bought it from back and he said he doesn't remember it making a loud humming noise but he hadn't used it for a long time, I didn't try it when I bought it cause he had moved recently and didn't have the 220 volt plug, bit it looked great

I have 2 evenheat furnaces they don't make a peep....where is the noise coming from Controller or Heat Box?

It may be the relay vibrating/buzzing. That happens with age. Also, the controller box may need to be snugged down. Those sheet metal screws get loose easily. Replace them with the next size up (probably #10)

I have no clue but back in that age it might have MAGNETIC relays. If so simply change out to solid state relays should help. But if so you might need to reprogram if that's possible with that model.

Since it's that old could it have a transformer inside the control box for a power supply? If so, the steel laminations can get a tad loose causing a 60 cycle hum.

Does the sound start and stop as the relay energizes and de-energizes, or is it constant the entire time the unit is powered on?
I have had several older devices with mechanical/magnetic relays that buzz or hum when the relay is energized. That starts and stops as the relay goes ON/OFF.

If it is all the time, then I would expect a transformer is either a bit loose, or the plates are not tight anymore. Nothing you can doo if the plates are loose, but it isn't an issue with performance.

Tighten all screws in the control box as well as any that hold the box to the oven ( power cord unplugged first, please), and check all wiring connections. See if that changes anything.

My oven buzzes as it’s first warming up. It’s a 60hz hum but goes away once the elements are warm.
