I don't know if this is the appropriate place to put this? If, Admin needs to move it please do.

I was given the opportunity to use my Svante Djarv "Little Viking Axe" and my John Neeman Tools "Robin Wood Edition" carving Axes in a week-long Spoon and Bowl Carving class at 'Country Workshops' in North Carolina. It was a fantastic experience! The 'Workshops' are located in the Blue Ridge/Smokey Mountains. Just across the TN/NC border. Drew and Louise Langsner are two of the most gracious people I have ever met.

I used the SD 'Little Viking Axe' to remove the majority of the waste wood on the bowl and the JNT-'Robin Wood Ed.' to rough-cut the spoon blank. The JNT-RWE was the primary tool used for any detail work on both pieces. Both Axes performed extremely well and the edges required no touch-up or sharpening during the entire week.

The JNT Robin Wood Edition Axe was the 'class darling'. She just looks so pretty! Both Axes excelled. I'll be refining the edge-bevel, as time goes by. Many recommend elongating the left edge-bevel (since I'm right-handed). Re-profiling edge-bevel helps the Axe maintain a flatter cut when Hewing.

Thanks for letting me share.
