Hello, I'm new here and this is my first post. I recently picked up a used Strider and would like to ask the group if they can educate me a little bit as to what model it is that I actually have. I was told that it's an SGN and judging by some of the pic's I was able to find online I think that is correct. There is some blue hardware on the clip side that I'm wondering about, is it factory or after market? The seller didn't know. Thank you very much!

Looks like an SNG based on the position of the clip relative to the rest of the handle. If the blade from the handle to tip is just a little shy of 4 inches it's an SMF. No idea on the hardware.

Thank you for your response. Blade length is 3 1/2" and it's overall length is about 8 1/4". Judging by my pic's does it look to you as a legit Strider and not a fake or clone? I'm wondering if the previos owner added the blue hardware for some reason.

It looks good to me, you can buy lock bar hardware online , would not be concerned about that

Definetly an SnG. You can tell because it has 3 screws on the handle. SMF is very similar looking, a little larger and has 4 screws. Because the g10 side of the handle is square shaped and not contoured like the concealed carry (cc) version, this one would be referred to as Lego. Hope that helps.

As others have said, it's a Lego stonewashed SnG with an after market blue LBS. It comes from the factory with a flat, black LBS. People replace them often for a more unique look. Since there is no stamp saying what steel it is, then it's S30V steel.

Welcome to BFC!!!!!, enjoy your new knife and put it to use!!!!!!

Definitely an SnG with a Drop point with a full flat grind blade, can't really tell which gen is it (generation). These are hard use folders and built to last. I used to have the SmF version and it was a Gem 2 SmF. It was too big for my pocket and wasn't getting much usage and I decided to let it go. The SnG with it slightly smaller footprint fares better as an EDC. Its a straight forwards folder design without anything fancy. Even the pivot spots bronz washers (iirc). Only thing to remember is that, if you do take the folder apart, take note of the orientation of all pieces and install it back the same, this to avoid misalignment issues, sticky lockup etc etc.

Many thanks to all of you for all of your responses! This is by far the most informative knife collecting forum out there with very knowledgeable members and I'm glad to be apart of it. I was very stoked to get this Strider and now all the more since I now know for sure that it's a legit Strider Lego SnG and that the blue LBS, which was a concern of mine, is an after market add on added for aesthetics. Very cool. Thanks again!
