im looking to buy 2 knives:

a long fixed blade, 7 - 10 inches. possibly a bowie. i saw a picture of a long bowie once on someone's personal website and ive never forgotten it. unfortunately i dont know what it was and i dont know where the website is i appreciate a good looking blade as much as i do the quality of its steel. the handle is very important to me too. i think, but am not sure, i want a wooden handle.

a small fixed blade, around 3 inches. im not really sure what i want here either. again, quality steel and looks. i might even go for a throwing knife in this category. or maybe not

throw some suggestions at me :P

im also not sure what im willing to spend, how much i fall in love with what i see will determine how deep i am willing to dig

(i am reposting this here without the reference to a knife maker)

i will be carrying them, but they will not see much use. normally i would say quality and usability comes before form, but in this case form and function are about equal concerns. the long blade will be for a sheath on a quiver and the short blade is for a sheath on an arm guard

Check out the Bark River selection at AG Russell, DLT Trading, and other dealers.

Keep a hawk-eye on the For Sale by Maker section. There are handmade knives just like you described that sell on there regularly. But the best deals often sell very quickly, so you have to be ready to jump.
