So I bought this Small Sebenza 21 a week or so ago knowing all the described cosmetic issues. The seller was very up front about them and was not the owner who did the customization. The customizations were done by a previous owner prior to the seller and the Ano job was fading away pretty badly. Looks like it was a multi-color fade of some sort? The previous owner had also done an acid wash on the blade. I was fine with the blade but didn’t really like the now faded ano. Just looked weird and ugly. So, I decided to do a little Scotch Brite rub on the scale and clip. I just used the standard green Scotch Brite pad and did some light linear rubbing. Only took about 10 minutes max to get it to this point. I really like the old worn look of the scales now. I could keep going with the Scotch Brite and get it to a shinier finish but I think I’ll leave it as is.
How does everyone like it?
Also, just a quick testament to CRK in how easy it is to take a part and reassembly the Sebenza. This one is from 2013 and it had great action and a centered blade when I got it. Took it apart and did a little “Spa” treatment of my own and it’s even smother now with a still perfectly centered blade. Just amazing.
Weird faded and ugly Ano job.
Disassembly where you can really see of the old Ano.
