User opinions of Gerber's BMF?

I was fortunate enough to pick up a Gerber BMF in great shape, but with a (phenomenal) On/Scene Tactical kydex sheath (no original sheath).

I love the knife. I don't know if I've ever owned a knife that's as physically appealing as this one.

Thing is, I'm dying to take it out and use it. With the collector market as it is, should I do this (keep in mind, it's not new/mint).

Have any of you used (or use) yours? If so, what are the strengths/weaknesses of this knife? If I use it, is the handle material going to get all torn up? How strong is the tip?

Thanks,

E

Go to the "Knife Reviews & Testing" forum and type "Gerber BMF" in the search window.

Read. Enjoy.

Maximus--

I tried the search, and surprisingly, there really aren't a lot of comments on the knife based on actual use. Just wondering how well they hold up to use.

I have a couple of the BMf's and like them , I have heard the tip is not that strong , but it sharpens easy for me , the saw theeth dont work very well , cept maybe for thin skin aircraft and they wont let me cut planes up .:o :D
