User or Collectible?

Is (are) your Busse blade(s) used or simply collected?

If you were to pass one on to a family member, which model would it be? What would you tell them before you presented it?

For me, my crew is mixed. Some I wouldn't use unless TSHTF. Barring that, my users are my Steel Heart, Mean Street, Badger, Assault Shakers, and Pauls.

If I were to pass one on, it would be my Steel Heart, and I would tell that "here is a knife you can stake your life on".

i'm going to give it a couple of weeks and choose my beater and take it through the test. already chose a ZTNO to test.
 
Most are or have been users, as far as passing one on the Steel Heart would be a natural choice, along with a Mean Street:)

All I would tell them is "Here";)
 
I've got users, beaters and keepers.

My current users are an Assault Shaker, BA-e, ZT SH, 2 MS's, and Basic 3. Of those the Badger takes most of the beating.

The rest of mine have remained unused at present.

If I were to pass one on to my children it would be my Flying Tiger and SH Variant. 2 children, 2 knives. :D:D
 
I use all of mine with the exception of a Mr. Mojo. The Mean Street see's the most use, then a Steel Heart ( By the way Jerry, your warranty is the best in the business...THANKS!)

Eric, you have two children...they'll get married some day, which means you'll have to pass on four Busse's. Then, they will have children....;) I've thought of this plenty I've got my fourth on the way!:)

Trouble is, I can't really bear keeping a knife that falls into disuse and, since Jerry intends his knives to be used I end up beating all of them eventually.
 
Hey Everyone,

I've used all my Busse's, ShII, BM, BA, Basic 9, NO.
I figure if I want them LIKE new I could have them recoated.
I also bought them to use. it's a delima to use them or not because of the collectability, but I dont intent to ever sell them so why not.
 
All my knives are users. When I get one I have to use it to get a feel for the design, the steel and the performance.
My Busses are the most used/abused/loved/beaten ones. My addiction is growing every day.

The knive to pass on would be the SH for it's my favourite. But it would have to be wrestled from me

I have way too many to use them all, several that are worth well over $1000 each.

So...What do I use?
I have a couple of Birds Beak Steel Hearts, an AfterShock Bolo, a ZT SH and Satin Jack, a Satin Jack, SH Mojo and a SHe Variants that I use.

What will I pass on?
It doesn't matter I don't have any kids.
You guys can probable pick up some great deals at my Estate Auction.
A Shark for $20 bucks, An AK for $35.00, some Clip point BM's for $15,
Variants for $10.....you get the Idea;)
 
All of my Busses are users. I'm not comfortable until their coatings are marred.

IMHO, you don't see the full beauty of a Busse knife until you go out and use/abuse it.

It's interesting, almost all the Busses I see for sale are either mint or nearly mint (minor use). Those that use their Busses hard just don't seem to sell them much :D
