I got a user large 21 in trade today. After checking all the usual things..

lockup,blade centering,handle for marks,clip for tension.

I opened the blade up...the smoooth went away a Long Time Ago.

.I took it apart to check for lube...what lube there wasnt Any.

I sanded the washers with 2000 grit sand paper, used some Rem Oil and

what a diffenence! I dont think the knife had ever been cleaned and lubed.

Not a big deal but I think maybe when you only have 1 or 2 CRKs you may

not realize they need to be cleaned and lubed once in a while.

Has anyone else had the same issue with a user they have bought or

traded for?

The first thing I do is clean and lube the Sebenza whether it's new or used. I've bought 3 users in the past and they all needed to be cleaned. For me a knife just doesn't feel like it's really mine until I've taken it apart

Yeah when i got mine first thing i did was give it a good cleaning:thumbup:

I had a brand new small Sebenza that had very stiff action. I took it apart the first day and found it to be bone dry, Never had any lube from the factory.
(Must Have Slipped Through Cracks) I lubed it with CRK grease and reassembled it. It was much better but still stiff. I worked it every night in my chair for 2 months. Still wasn't as smooth as I new it COULD be. Took it back apart and found the washers were very slightly warped. Flat sanded them in one direction only with 600 grit. Reassembled with CRK lube and its slicker than snot. My washers had small worn memory in them from being opened dry, Flat sanding dialed it right in. Thats my story & Im stickin to it.

GUILTY AS CHARGED- gotta admit that I traded this knife to Clockman and it was the first Chris Reeve that I ever handled. I was actually pretty impressed with how "smooth" the knife felt, can't imagine what a properly lubed Sebenza feels like. Clockman- glad you quickly got her back in good working order.
