Username In Strikethrough Font?

I tried searching for the answer to this first but came up empty handed.

I noticed that the sender’s user name of a few old messages are in strikethrough font. What does that mean?

It means they have left the conversation (deleted to save space).

It means they have left the conversation (deleted to save space).

I do that all the time myself!
