This is user’s puukko or “käyttöpuukko” as we say in Finland. Therefore, it is not polished and shiny. So, severe use will not spoil its appearance. The front of brass bolster is finished by a file, because resharpening anyway will scratch it. And the blade is sharpened by handheld with stone, because the user will presumably resharpen the blade by the same method. The blade has convex grind which is the best grind for puukko and it is typical for Finnish handheld sharpened puukkos.
The blade is 96 mm long and 3 mm thick. It has three laminated layers: sides are low carbon steel and the centre is O1. I have write my name Juha S. Perttula on spine with runes. They are old Germanic runes, not newer Viking runes. The handle is Curly Birch and oiled by boiled linseed oil. The riveted sheath is not typical for Finnish puukkos, but it is good and I like it. The riveted seam resembles an old Iron-Age style.
