I was watching some videos on youtube about a month ago and seen a guy on there who did not have a clue how to use an Angle finder and was using for different thing's and also with a KME sharpening system and I just want to post some pic's for anyone new to sharpening and who may have a KME and be thinking of using an Angle finder.
The guy in the youtube video I seen had him just zero out the Angle finder and then set the angle of what he wanted to sharpen at witch is completely wrong,he needed to set the knife holder at 90 degree's before he set the angle he wanted to sharpen at,I can not find the video again but if I come across it I will post it in this thread.
I first got a bolt and washer I forget what size the bolt is but it is a standard bolt you can find at any Hardware Store, then I went to a small engine repair guy I know and got the two parts welded together for 5 bucks.
I have a bigger vice as well but it's cold in my shop and we have lots of snow so I just rigged this up with a jeweler's vice I had laying around,I had the bolt and washer welded together so I could use it as an adapter to put the KME in the vice and act as a pivot point as well.

First take the Angle finder and Zero it out on the table your vice is mounted to.

Next hold the Angle finder against the back of the KME and set it to 90 degree's,a small sliding speed clamp works nice to hold the Angle finder to the KME makes this task a lot easier.

Then put the stone holder and rod into the KME system and then just set to the angle you want to sharpen at with the Angle finder and your done.
