Using angle cube to find current blade angle?

Is it possible to use an angle cube to find what the current angle of a knife is so you don't have to guess with the sharpie trick?

Not really. The bevel is too short to rest the cube on, so without a guided sharpening system (and a sharpie), I see no way to use the cube to figure out the angle.

I have an adjustable sharpening "ramp" that I built, inspired by the ones that fellow BF member "Unit" built and showed on youtube. I've used sharpie and the ramp a few times to try to determine the edge angle of blades. It worked pretty well. Not as precise as a Wicked Edge or something, but it's pretty close.
