Hey all. Just wanted to share something small with you guys. After being hit with Hurricane Sandy last week we got hit with another storm named "Athena" that brought on about 6 inches of snow yesterday. It also happened to bring down some branches on my street - a lot more than what Sandy brought down. Given the good neighbor I am, I got up early and after shoveling my sidewalk, used my BK-9 and my Bahco Laplander (for the first time) to shorten those branches and push them to the side so that my neighbors could drive through the street to work. I live in a court and the trees fell on the street right in front of my house, which is right at the neck of the court.

An example of one of those branches

Lookin' good with those TommyTheWho scales (honduran rosewood!)

The BK-9 chops through 2-3 inch diameter branches with ease

This saw is absolutely amazing. It literally cuts the wood like cutting bread. The awesome part about this saw is that it cuts aggressively on both push and pull

At around 7AM, I cleared the street and ran back into my house because I didnt want people to see me with a knife in hand, given there are laws here in new york...

Anyway, thanks for looking!

Very nice of you, I was going to ask what the neighborhood would think of you out destroying branches with a giant knife. The law hopefully would have looked the other way though considering you are providing a city service for free.

I think my neighbors would look past the fact I'm using a knife and that I'm doing something helpful for them. My only regret is that I didnt use my Machax as well.

Thanks for your kind words. Most of us aren't doing as bad as the media show to be, but then again I haven't been to Manhattan recently to see how it is there.

I like to see our tools, more specifically our Beckers being used when needed. It's fun to get out and put them through their paces recreationally, but when they're really needed is my favorite. I hope y'all thaw out soon up there.

Great pics. Thanks for sharing. You guys hang in there back east. Always good to see a nine in action!

Looks like the 9 and the BAHCO did the job. Glad Neighborhood Watch didn't create issues for ya, too.

I've chopped up branches/small trees with mine as well. Awesome knife! Just bought my 3rd BK9 off the exchange. Best knife money can buy IMO.

i used my 9 to clear some branches as well during yard work though not crazy storms, aftermath. what part of LI are u from? i am from Seaford. my sister is most probably losing her house. She is in Amity Harbor

looks like you made short work out of that tree... its always fun when you get a reason (or excuse) to use the tools we enjoy
