Using Dogbane as Tinder

I also tried to get the ovum to light with flint and steel, but was a no go. At least for now, I'll try it more and see what I can come up with.

Where I gathered the seed pods, at the edge of a lake

Pods open on the plant

Gathered pods, just after several minutes and a few plants

A good shot of the ovum and seeds

And the only fish I caught the day I found these pods!

Excellent video and information Scab. I've never noticed the dogbane pods like that before, but I now know why some people can confuse it with milkweed (even though difference seems pretty obvious).

I decided to quote your first line, because it was the first thing I read this morning.....My eyes were still fuzzy with the crunchies in the corners of my eyes....Barely awake, I read the first line and interpreted.....'Short video of me talking to fire and playing with myself'...Needless to say I was very reluctant to open that video up...

SKA - Dogbane seed fluff does and "ok" job as tinder, but the plant's real value is the fiberous bark. Just like Milkweed, it will peel off the dead, dry stalks in the late fall. Buff off the rad "bark" and you'll have some of the strongest/silkiest plant fiber around.

I agree, but my point of this video was to show that many over look it's other uses.
